Meet the author
I hold a Master’s degree in Digital Media and have been shooting video for over 20 years, starting back when I was filming on my parents’ old VHS camcorder. What began as curiosity turned into a lifelong passion for cameras and storytelling.
I’m the creator of The Film Alliance, a YouTube channel with over 140,000 subscribers focused entirely on camera reviews and teaching video fundamentals in a clear, beginner-friendly way.
One thing I’ve learned after years of shooting and teaching is this: you don’t need the newest or most expensive camera to create great-looking video. With a solid understanding of exposure, lenses, lighting, and composition, almost any camera can produce impressive results.
I created these guides because when you’re shooting, there’s already a lot to think about. You’re trying to stay creative while also remembering camera fundamentals. Constantly bouncing between the technical side and the creative side can break your flow. The Pocket Camera Guides were designed to keep the technical stuff out of your head and right in front of you, so you can stay focused on creating instead of second-guessing your settings.
